Following the third Scientific Advisory Board Meeting, which took place virtually on March 12th, 2021, and after seeing the project’s progress over the year 2020 in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the board members wrote:
“The SAB congratulates Pr. Barlesi on keeping the PIONeeR Project moving forward under the difficult conditions of the COVID crisis and making substantial progress. The SAB appreciates the great difficulties of the past year that slowed progress on multiple fronts. However, the strongest enthusiasm remains for the PIONeeR Project, which is UNIQUE, COMPREHENSIVE, SPECIALIZED and extremely INNOVATIVE in the BIOMARKER component.”
In their report, the experts renewed their support to the project:
“It is the opinion of the SAB that this public-private partnerships remains unique in its scope, comprehensive and considered highly innovative. For these reasons this program remains critically important to the field, needs to be supported and must be completed.”
